Cross Country 2016/17 Season

Every year the club enters itself into the Oxon County Cross Country league and encourages as many of its runners as possible to enter the races. The club also runs a XC Club Championship, with points awarded for club finishing position.

We are already well into the season with 2 of the 4 league races completed, and the Oxon/Berks/Bucks annual combined championship race.

Well done to everyone of the nearly 50 KRAC runners who have taken part in one or more of the 3 races so far!

The first two league races were held at Newbury and Adderbury in November and December respectively.

This year has seen Kidlington’s first Junior entrants, with a couple U11 runners, and one U9!

At the first race in Newbury, Kidlington had an amazing 31 runners, with Sam Upton the first KRAC male runner home, closely followed by Tom Holdsworth. The ladies were led home by Katie Webster and Andrea Finnigan.

At Adderbury we again fielded a huge team of 26 runners. Sam Upton and Tom Holdsworth again led home the males, with Becky Shorrock and then Katie Webster leading home the women.

At the Oxon/Berks/Bucks championship in Stowe last weekend another strong contingent of 25 runners turned out for KRAC.

Our own Helene Greenwood was the first Oxon female athlete home – congratulations! Followed by Becky and Andrea rounding out our own top three. For the males Sam Upton was again the first KRACite home, followed once more by Tom Holdsworth.
