Well done to everyone who turned out yesterday for what was a very pleasant XC fixture with favourable conditions and a relatively flat (but still surprisingly challenging) course. We had 29 runners including 4 juniors, 8 women and 17 men.
Despite missing some of our regulars and many of us having run marathons recently, everyone ran really well and we had strong results for all our teams – you can find the finer details of this at: www.oxonxc.org.uk
Our Women fielded an A, B and C team with strong performances throughout. Chelsea led the teams home – a fantastic 10th on debut – and the A team are fulfilling their role as favourites in Div 3, leading with several other clubs close behind.
The Men were led home by Jack (14th overall & 3rd U20….not bad for a triathlete) with many of us coming in close together – thanks for the hurry up round the final bend, Hugo! The A team sits 3rd in Div 2 with survival already looking assured and a push for successive promotions very possible, whilst the B team sits 16th in Div 3 – though that is likely to significantly improve.
Special mentions to our Juniors, Rachel for providing lovely flapjacks & brownies, and Trevor for volunteering.
Next stop is Cirencester for some ‘proper’ XC, I will send out the details in the next few weeks and hope to see you all in action again – it would be amazing to have C teams for both genders 😁
